This is a self-initiated project created to promote the field of emergency services to secondary and post-secondary aged females. Many emergency service fields still struggle to recruit and hire women. A large part of the issue is visibility. Many females, when choosing careers, just don't think emergency services because they don't see themselves reflected in the ranks of first responders. I wanted to design a set of bold and simple ads that showed everyday women working in these fields. I'm hoping, by seeing these advertisements, women would be able to imagine themselves involved in these careers. I designed a set of 4 posters that showcase the 3 main emergency service careers: Police Services, Fire Services, and Emergency Medical Services. I also created a set of static and animated ads that could be used on social media platforms, as well as a set of animated display ads.
